Back to list of Primary Schools

At Fetcham Village Infant School we aim to be as environmentally friendly as we can be.

We can show lots of ways in which we try to help the environment:

  • Composting leaves and our left over fruit and vegetables from the break-time snacks.
  • Sorting all of our rubbish into recycling and refuse.
  • Collecting used printer cartridges for recycling.
  • Reusing newspaper and plastic yoghurt pots when painting and glueing.
  • All the children look after their whole school environment.

  • Collecting rainwater in different water butts, to use to fill the school pond and water the plants in the greenhouse and the other planters around the school grounds.
  • Avoid wasting water in school by turning off the taps and only use the water we actually need when washing our hands to avoid ‘dead water’.
