This was the badge designed by Dillon for all eco rangers to wear with pride.

Rachel designed this logo to help us save water around the school.

In April 2007 a group of children formed the Raleigh Eco-Rangers.
Our aim was to help the school become more environmentally friendly in as many
ways as possible and to gain the Bronze Level of the National Eco Schools Award.
We did an audit of the school and decided to focus on 4 areas. We achieved our bronze certificate in June 07.

Less traffic on the roads around the school

Stop dripping taps

Paper Recycling

Switch off lights and projectors

During the last school year the Raleigh became more eco friendly by selecting children to become Eco Rangers.

In addition, year’s 2, 4 and 5 did a Sustainability Project. Year 5 did Tap Checking which helped us as that meant we didn’t have to worry about that. We also had Light Monitors that checked the lights were out in the classrooms before break and lunch.

We had an assembly that told the rest of the school about what we had done. We each talked to our classes about how you should only put paper in the recycling if it has been used on both sides and that if it had been used on one side that you should put it in scrap paper.

The whole school helped and in the end we earned our bronze award of Eco Schools. This year we have picked new Eco Rangers and will be aiming for the silver award of Eco schools.
